【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulforrapididentificationofwaterbornepetroleumoilsamplesaswellasoilsamplesobtainedfromfuelorstoragetanks,orfromsand,vegetation,orothersubstrates.Thistestmethodisapplicabletoweatheredandunweatheredneatoilsamples.Theunknownoilisidentifiedthroughthecomparisonofthefluorescencespectrumoftheoilwiththespectra(obtainedatsimilarinstrumentalsettingsonthesameinstrument)ofpossiblesourcesamples.Amatchoftheentirespectrumbetweentheunknownandpossiblesourcesampleindicatesacommonsource.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthecomparisonofwaterbornepetroleumoilswithoilsfrompossiblesourcesbymeansoffluorescencespectroscopy().Usefulreferencesforthistestmethodinclude:()and()forfluorescenceanalysisingeneraland(),(),and()foroilspillidentificationincludingfluorescence.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletocrudeorrefinedpetroleumproducts,foranysampleofneatoil,waterborneoil,orsampleofoil-soakedmaterial.Unlessthesamplesarecollectedsoonafterthespilloccurs,itisnotrecommendedthatvolatilefuelssuchasgasoline,kerosine,andNo.1fueloilsbeanalyzedbythistestmethod,becausetheirfluorescencesignatureschangerapidlywithweathering.SomeNo.2fueloilsandlightcrudeoilsmayonlybeidentifiableupto2daysweathering,orless,dependingontheseverityofweathering.Ingeneral,samplesweatheredupto1weekmaybeidentified,althoughlongerperiodsofweatheringmaybetoleratedforheavyresidualoils,oilweatheredunderArcticconditions,oroilthathasbeenprotectedfromweatheringbycollectinginathicklayer.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
