【摘要】:Thispracticeprovidesastandardapproachtomeasuringparticledeposition,orfallout,incleanroomsandothercontrolledenvironments.Itisbasedontheuseofawitnesssurfacetocollectparticlesthatdepositfromthesurroundingenvironmentandsubsequentlysizingandcountingtheparticlesbyconventionalmethods.Severaloptionsareintroduced,withlimitationsandguidelinesforselectingthebestchoicefortheintendedapplication.Thispracticeisapplicableacrossnumerousindustriesincludingaerospace,microelectronics,andpharmaceuticals.1.1Thispracticeisintendedtoassistintheselection,preparation,exposure,andanalysisofwitnesssurfacesforthepurposeofcharacterizingparticledepositionratesincleanroomsandassociatedcontrolledenvironments,particularlyforaerospaceapplications.1.2Requirementsmaybedefinedintermsofparticlesizedistributionandcount,percentareacoverage,orproductperformancecriteriasuchasopticaltransmissionorscatter.Severalchoicesforwitnesssurfacesareprovided.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.
